I purchased this book back in 1995, began reading it, but never finished even the first chapter. I came across it neatly packed away during a recent move and decided to give it a try. WOW!!! I could not get over the results. After reading the entire book and years of NEVER winning the Florida "Cash Three", following Isaac's system, I won the next 5 out of 7 "Boxed" Cash Three games! This book is written in eveyday language and does not require an accountants degree to understand. The author is not beyond reproach either, as I have found in other systems I've read, and is more than willing to help or advise through his listed WEB site. So if you want to waste your money on "Horoscope Readings" or some other scheme that is based on obscure data like a friend's, mother's, cousin's, pet dog's birthday that's ok. But, if you want an honest-to-goodness system that WORKS, then this is the book you want to read. T. L., Davie, Florida.

David Nibert highlights the conflicting role of the state as a promoter of gambling to show who really profits from lottery gambling: advertising agencies, television stations, and ticket vendors. Less than half the money wagered is returned to participants as prizes. Hitting The Lottery Jackpot reveals the losers: lower-income groups, people of color. These are the segments of the general populace that spend a much higher percentage of their income on lotteries than others. This book was actually better than I expected. I knew that this book was not going to help me win the lottery nor improve my chances. This book met those expectations and more. I really think portions of this book should be used by programs which deter people from online gambling as it explains the odds of various lottery games. The title is right on the money, Catlin gives you the truth behind the numbers and giudes you to the best games to play if you must play. He also makes it clear that playing the lottery and gambling are for entertainment purposes.

When I moved to Texas two years ago, many of my new friends played an unfamiliar game of "42". I hesitated joining their parties since "42" meant nothing to me. Then I found Dennis Roberson's book, "Winning 42". After reading cover to cover my confidence built and I am now part of the party and looking forward to the next session. The book does contain a few 'typos', but they force you to think and reflect on the game. If you want to learn "42" and its history, this is a MUST READ. book.

I own many books on the lottery, and have never felt the need to write a review for any until now. I purchased this book just days ago. After quietly reading it, I immediately discovered what was unique about it. The author uses systems that have been scientifically developed for accuracy,using the mathematical science of combinatorics. For those who may shy away from any discussion math related, don't be fooled by the big word. All of the work has been done already, and if you can read my review, you can master the concepts taught in this book, math or no math. After reading the book, I decided to test the principles on paper the next day. I modified one of the systems, making it adaptable to a Pick 5 came and applied it. To my delight, had I played for real I would have captured a 4 of 5 win, with multiple 3 and 2 number wins. Total winnings were over $460.00. What causes this book to stand out over others is that the systems are optimized for minimal required tickets. In other words, the author has
calculated the lowest number of tickets required to capture the win desired. It is good to see a work vindicated by results and not hype... I highly recommend it...

The book focusses on three main types of lotteries being played in North America today: 3/4 ball lotteries, 649 style lotteries, and Keno. Powerball and scratch 'n win lotteries are also mentioned. Prof Jones details the major statistical approaches which can be used to maximize the odds of winning any given lottery. Wheeling systems, both full and abbreviated, are discussed. This is a relatively short, small book; it contains plenty of practical 'how to' advice. Players who wish to simply follow a set of cookbook instructions will be right at home here.
I deducted one star simply because I would have preferred a larger book, with more statistical proof to validate the approaches mentioned. I also felt that the discussion of abbreviated wheeling systems was, well, abbreviated; there are a number of templates - hundreds - and while these could have been included, Prof Jones would prefer to sell them to you as a separate product advertised in the back of the book. Still, he does include several commonly used templates, and explain their use.
Actually, there are a number of products advertised in the back of the book, most of them sold by Prof Jones. While I normally prefer my books to be advertisement free, I felt that including advertisements for products very likely to be of great interest to the purchaser probably isn't a huge sin. So, in this case, I chose not to deduct a point. To his credit, there isn't any evidence to indicate that Prof Jones has edited his book in such a way as to make purchase of additional items mandatory. While the products advertised will make the methods described in the book easier to implement, the book does stand on its own.
There are no examples in the book of how odds improve using his methods. There is also no discussion as to whether his methods will improve your odds enough to break even or show a small profit; but, given that there are absolutely no specific financial claims mentioned, it would not surprise me to discover that you'll still lose money by gambling. Whether you'll lose less using the methods in this book is by no means clear.
The book is by no means an exhaustive exploration of the topic; it is more like a 300 MPH overview from 10,000 feet. What it does do is provide the beginning gambler with a basic introduction into choosing numbers which may be more likely to hit. It will stimulate thought, and give the number crunchers something to keep them crunching away into the wee, small hours of the night.
Aside from its brevity and lack of concrete examples and statistical proof, there's really nothing wrong with the book. It's a quick and easy read; it does have specific step by step examples on choosing numbers; and if you believe that statistical analysis will improve your lottery results, then this book is not a bad place to start.

Henze and Riedwyl's book on the lottery is very interesting in that it gives a honest mathematical and statistical view of the lottery. Unlike the vast majority of [other] books about lotteries, Henze and Riedwyl know mathematics, statistics, and probability theory. They make no claims that you will win (because you won't), but if you like recreational mathematics, it's an enjoyable book.

Gail Howard's book titled 'Lottery Master Guide' is the 'one and only' book that anyone needs to help win any State or any country's lottery! I have read a number of other authors' books on how to win the lottery, and all others I read were very confusing, and/or didn't give enough good info to help at all!
I own several of Gail's books and also her software, and am proud to say I have won a lot of prizes using her number selection methods and wheels over the years. No, I haven't won the elusive jackpot yet,..but I feel it's only a matter of time for me!
The 'Lottery Master Guide' explains all her methods and charts in detail to help you reduce the high lotto odds by millions! Once this is explained to you, you'll see how to win multiple prizes in any State or Country's lottery.
In this book, there are many unique number selection methods mentioned that I haven't seen anywhere else that will help you trap the winning lottery numbers in your selection process. Yes, the lottery drawing itself is a random type drawing done usually with a 'machine', but, even so, you can clearly still see patterns that develop over and over again and use them to your advantage to win prizes.
From using the charts and methods shown in plain to understand language, to look at the numbers in ways that most never even think of, you can finally be a constant winner like myself, and many, many others using her systems and methods.

Until reading Gail Howard's book LOTTERY MASTER GUIDE, I never played the lottery regularly. Now that I understand the logic of Howard's approach to this seemingly random game, I am confident that I will be a lottery winner. Howard's writing style is simple, clear, and extremely easy to follow. As a result, the opportunity to apply her approach to playing the lottery makes the game more enjoyable and, I believe, winnable. Anyone interested in understanding how lotteries work and how to become a winner should read all of Gail Howard's books.

The book includes their personal philosophy, method of picking numbers, legal details, distribution of winnings and their future plans. Maureen Baldwin has wrtten a description of life before and after winning $13.5 million. She and her husband, retired teachers living in a small town in northern Illinois won the lottery in 1996. Winning changed their lives forever, but they were determined to avoid the mistakes other winners may have made and to hold fast to the principles that have always guided their lives. The book answers the many questions they were asked: "How did you do that? What was it like? How to you feel?" She describes in detail the system her mathematically-minded husband Doug used to select the winning numbers. This well-written book is also attractive, physically well put together. The graphics are interesting, and the cover is eye-catching. In the introduction, Baldwin writes, "...it was our optimistic attitude toward the use of our good fortune and our desire to share it with others that has given us our greatest joy." After you've read the book, you will share their joy and realize that nice things really do happen to nice

This is a book for the non-slot machine Keno player who wants to move from beginner or from an experienced player relying on instinct and common sense, to an intermediate player wise to the in's and out's of this complex and ancient gambling game. Of particular use will be the mathematical formulas necessary to calculate way (or combination) tickets and begin to perceive the odds. For example, it is smarter to play a way ticket of 3 groups of three, or 4 groups of three, or even 5 groups of three? And on a way ticket of 5 groups of 3, just how many combinations of 6 are possible? Or 9? This book shows you how to calculate those numbers. There is nothing new here for the expert player and those who just stuff coins into a Keno slot machine will be equally disappointed. The book is written in a flowing and casual style making it a quick read except for the time spent lingering over and understanding the relatively simple math and reviewing some helpful tables. Lots of excellent tips and info on the game in
general. Interestingly, the author relates some short antecdotes about he and his wife's adventures in the casinos playing Keno. It seems she, not the author, may have been the more successful player. I don't know if she followed his advice, but I'd love to read her book! Maybe this isn't the absolute and Compleat Keno but it is all the Keno reference book most of us "play for fun" Keno addicts will need. A good deal for the price.
