Winning at Casino Gambling

by Lyle Stuart

Customer Reviews

Great advice for the semi-experienced gambler., August 6, 2001
Reviewer: travelingatty "travelingatty" (Yerevan, Armenia)

This book is about developing a winning philosophy for online gambling. While it does include some strategic tips for playing casino games, the book does not set out to teach you how to play. Instead of focusing on the rules and strategy for individual games, it teaches money managment and how to maximize your chances of leaving the casino with more money in your pocket than you brought in. Lyle Stuart is an acknowledged gambling expert, and he offers up his own experiences in playing and watching casino games. Even though there is a bit too much self-congratulations throughout, his stories are entertaining, and he does a good job of explaining complex odds to the layman. This is a very useful book for anyone who has a basic understanding of casino play.

Baccarat for the Clueless

by John May, Carol Pub Group

Customer Reviews

Remarkable study of the game of Baccarat, February 27, 2003
Reviewer: Olivier (Paris France)

This is probably the best book on Baccarat, and I preciously keep my copy for reference. John May's mastery of all historical, social and quantitative aspects of the game is remarkable. My only complaint is that the author tends to get carried away when he suggests "winning" strategies. Don't expect to find a practical way of making money in this book: unfortunately, a baccarat deck is much more stable than a blackjack deck. Still, if someone ever finds a winning strategy for baccarat, he will probably have read this book. Finally, a very minor point: there is a small mistake in the description of the rules of Baccarat Banque... although since Baccarat Banque is hardly ever played today it does not really matter.

Casino Gambling : A Winner's Guide to Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Baccarat, and Casino Poker

by Jerry Patterson, Eric Nielsen, "Sharpshooter", Christopher Pawlicki, Sharpshooter

Customer Reviews

An excellent handbook, February 1, 2004
Reviewer: "cperry2" (Brisbane, Australia)

I found this a delightful book. It's very easy to read, covers all the major games, and contains lots of practical, useful advice. And at less than $20, it's excellent value for money.

My only criticism (a very minor one) is that the Roulette section focuses mainly the "double-zero" wheel, used in the USA. The "single zero" wheel used in Europe and in Australia, doesn't get much coverage.

However, this is a minor issue. Overall I found this an excellent book, containing a wealth of useful advice.

The Baccarat Battle Book: How to Attack the Game of Baccarat

by Frank Scoblete

Customer Reviews

Loaded with Valuable Information, December 20, 2003
Reviewer: A reader

A complete discussion of all aspects of baccarat from card counting to systems play. Scoblete masterfully takes the reader into the ins and outs of this fascinating game and shows how to really lower the house take on your money and how to get what he calls the "monetary edge." The book is fascinating and fun. Scoblete is an excellent writer. As I said in the title of this review, the book is loaded with valuable information.
Baccarat is Not Just Like Flipping a Coin, September 18, 2001
Reviewer: A reader

Scoblete shows clearly the complexities of baccarat. He discusses card counting systems, advantage play methods, and ways to reduce the casino commission on the bank bets. The book is great reading and never dull. If you play baccarat you should seriously consider getting this book.
One Word - Great, June 6, 2001
Reviewer: A reader

This is the best book on baccarat I've ever read and I've read just about all of them, including John May's excellent book. But May is too esoteric, while Scoblete can teach the average player to really exploit this game for comps. He also has the most remarkable way to reduce the casino edge on the Bank bet by 20 percent! Get this book for its research and revelations. Like all of Scoblete's books it is well written and enjoyable.
