World Poker Tour - Season Two
Customer Reviews
Great Set for Poker Fans, April 11, 2005
Reviewer: Dorrie Wheeler "Author of Be My Sorority Sister" (Virginia Beach, Va United States)
If you are a fan of the game of poker you will surely enjoy World Poker Tour-Season Two. The show comes on the travel channel. The major players have their only little quirky personalities, like Phil Ivey who is known for wearing sweatshirts and sweat pants to the table. The announcers have little quips and jokes to provide fodder as the game play takes place. The stakes are very high. The World Poker Tour succeeds because it gives the viewers a front row seat to these high stakes games. The set is a whopping 8 discs. This set would make the perfect gift for a poker fan, or hey Father's Day is coming up too. The set includes episodes from various locations including Aruba, on ships and several episodes taped at various casinos in Nevada and California among other locals. The extras are interesting. The player profiles give the viewers insight into the players who you don't really see talk when they are at the table. The featurette "Poker Takes Over Hollywood: A look at Hollywood's fascination with poker,"
takes a look at how some of Hollywood's popular actors are into the game of poker. This set is priced less than season one and you get just as much great poker action if not more with all the bonus material. This is a wonderful DVD set for someone who likes the shows, loves the game of poker, or wants to learn more about poker.

Buy only if you are a "collector", January 22, 2005
Reviewer: H. Asari (Madison, WI USA)
This is just a collection of 2003 WSOP as broadcast on ESPN. Each of the 7 episodes is commercial-free, and it contains three poker-related short segments (1, 3 and 6 minutes in length) from other ESPN shows, but there is nothing new for this DVD set. If you have seen the episodes on TV already, and don't expect watching the episodes again, I suggest passing this one and registering for an online satellite poker tournaments for this year's WSOP instead.
Also, I noticed that the video is at times pretty choppy and nearly unbearably blocky. You would think that any professional production company can do a better job of image transfer. Oh, well. Maybe they will do a better job for the 2004 edition (if they make it).
its a great classic to have if your a poker fan, December 2, 2004

Highly Recommend!, January 5, 2005
Reviewer: Mark (Ohio)
I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to improve their poker game! The DVD is a series of seminars by World Class Professional poker players. This is a 2 DVD set with almost 5 hours of strategy, question and answer, and winning poker concepts. I was surprised at how much I learned from these seminars since I have been playing limit and no-limit Hold'em online and in gambling casinos for the last five years I figured that this would just be some basic concepts. However, these players address both beginning and advanced strategies that will benefit a player no matter their experience. Since I play much online I really liked Lee Jones seminar on No-Limit SitnGos and also Daniel Negreanu's seminar on No-Limit Final Table play. Mark Gregorich had some excellent advice on playing poker for a living. The video and audio quality of the DVD is very good as well. This is a live poker seminar and watching this DVD is almost as good as being there; it's better in the respect that you can view the material over and
over again.

WPT IS A GOOD BET !!!, March 31, 2005
Reviewer: Dale Mason "POKER GODS" (Tokyo)
5 dvds 1300 minutes, I bought the used ones, from one of the Amazons sellers. so it was cheaper the the new ones. Overall I would reccomend this collection. The poker experts commentary, are a little weak. I would prefer to have a real tourament player (winner) being the host. But its not bad, good camera views and you can see the hole cards. Buy it you will enjoy about 20 hours of WPT poker. GOOD LUCK!
