How to Win More: Strategies for Increasing a Lottery Win
by Norbert Henze, Hans Riedwyl
Customer Reviews
One of only two good lottery books, May 27, 2003
Reviewer: Tyler Jarvis (Brigham Young University)
There are probably only two really useful and accurate books on how to play the lottery.E The first is Ziemba, W. T. (1986) ,Dr.E Z's 6/49 Lotto Guidebook, and the second is this nice little volume.E
The authorsO focus is on winning the greatest possible amount if your numbers are selected.E The book is based on the important idea that, while there is no way to increase your chances of winning, Ethere are plays which will increase or decrease the expected payoff in the unlikely event that you do win. E
If you pick numbers the same way other people do, then you will have to share your winningsNsomething that could be very disappointing indeed. That is why, with the exception of this book and Dr. Z's book, the most popular lottery books will hurt you the most.
Nice book, January 19, 2003
Reviewer: Christopher Mecklin (Murray, KY United States)
Henze and Riedwyl's book on the lottery is very interesting in that it gives a honest mathematical and statistical view of the lottery. Unlike the vast majority of [other] books about lotteries, Henze and Riedwyl know mathematics, statistics, and probability theory. They make no claims that you will win (because you won't), but if you like recreational mathematics, it's an enjoyable book.
